Forever Stamps - a closer look
So, what exactly is the Forever Stamp? Here is a picture of one for anyone that has not seen them yet.
Postmaster General and Chief Executive Officer John E. Potter said that the Liberty Bell was selected because it resonates as one of the nation's most prominent and recognizable symbols associated with American independence.
The stamps are available wherever stamps are sold and will remain at the price paid for them forever, eliminating the need to buy one and two cent stamps after price increases. However, when there is a price increase additional purchases of the Forever Stamp will reflect this new price, so to buy more when you run out you will need to pay the new price of a first class stamp.
