Botox is the trade name for the cosmetic use of botulinum toxin A - a toxin that temporarily paralyzes the muscles that cause wrinkles by blocking the nerve impulses. Approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for cosmetic use in April 2002, Botox is now popular for treating the effects of aging on the skin of the face. If you are considering Botox treatments as a cure for wrinkles, then I encourage you to please look into it carefully. While there are benefits of feeling better about your appearance, there are also side effects that can occur and possible as yet unknown effects from the injection of Botox.
