Pen holder from votive holder

I have a sandstone holder that is intended to be used to hold a votive candle. However, I put a circle of felt in the bottom of it and am using it to hold my assortment of colored gel pens. It is just the perfect size for that.

Other ideas would be those wax sleeves for putting a votive candle inside of. You can get them in all kinds of decorative styles with dried flowers embedded in them and stuff. One of those makes a great pencil holder if you line the inside of it with sticky backed felt.
